Embassy Centre

The Embassy Theatre presents over 40 performances each year in addition to housing touring companies, concert tours, dance, lectures, and community events. This 1928 historic theatre serves over 200,000 patrons each year and the Embassy Box Office sells tickets for Embassy events and serves as a Ticketmaster outlet.

This contemporary museum offers artworks from its own permanent collections as well as national traveling exhibitions, classes, lectures, and a museum gift shop. It houses a 1,300-piece collection of 19th- and 20th-century art and highlights major exhibitions from museums throughout the United States. A special hands-on education gallery makes learning about art a fun experience for youngsters. Take in classes, workshops, lectures and other special events and don't forget to stop by the gift shop. Cathedral Museum

A classic example of Gothic architecture, the Cathedral of the Immaculater Conception’s wood carved sanctuary and Stations of the Cross are an example of woodcarving art at its finest. The Bavarian stained glass windows are said to be the finest of their kind in all the Western Hemisphere. Cathedral restored in 1998. The Cathedral Museum houses religious artifacts dating back to the mid-13th century. Individual and group guided tours are available upon request. Cathedral Church open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Museum hours: Wed-Fri 10 a.m.-2 p.m., 2nd & 4th Sun 12-3 p.m.

The Lincoln Museum

Few presidents have left a legacy as memorable as that of Abraham Lincoln, and nowhere is it presented as it is in this museum. The award-winning permanent exhibit, Abraham Lincoln and the American Experiment, includes 11 exhibit galleries featuring hundreds of artifacts from Lincoln's era. Eighteen interactive exhibits allow visitors to read Lincoln's mail, decorate the White House or fight a Civil War battle. Visitors may also match wits with the 16th President by sitting in his office and dealing with the issues of the day. There are four theaters and an array of Lincoln family photos as well as a somber look at the aftermath of Lincoln's assassination. A recent and important museum acquisition is a rare edition of The Emancipation Proclamation, signed by Lincoln in 1864. It is only one of eight in the world in public collections and ahs the distinction of being the only on on permanent public display. The Lincoln Museum also features one of the largest museum stores in Indiana. Open Tues-Sat 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun 1-5 p.m. Plan to spend one half to two hours to see everything in the museum. America's favorite classic cars fill the 1930 art deco showrooms of the former Auburn Automobile Company. More than 100 antique, vintage, classic and special-interest cars, from horseless carriages of the 19th century to muscle cars of the present, fill two floors of the historic building. Learn how the innovative cars of the classic era made their mark on our automobile industry. The Duesy Shop carries interesting gift items. Open 7 days a week from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society

The Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society is home to steam locomotive 765, which has operated excursions throughout the Midwest. The Society's collection includes a smaller switching steam locomotive, two wooden cabooses, a 200-ton wrecker, a diesel locomotive and other historic railroad equipment. You can tour the facility and talk to the people who maintain and operate this historic rail equipment, sit in the engineer's seat of a 400-ton iron horse and get a conductor's eye view from a 100-year-old caboose. Visit during our annual open house in August and take a 20-minute ride in a vintage caboose. For the ultimate railfan experience, the Society offers and Engineer For an Hour program. You'll receive an hour of instruction on general railroading, air brake operation, and diesel locomotive operation. Then you'll climb aboard the Society's 44-ton diesel locomotive and spend the next hour operating actual railroad equipment. The Society is open most Saturdays. Call for information.
